Groupon certainly invented a good business model. It gives good opportunities for you product or service, but if your service sucks then even Groupon promotions can't help you. So i believe Groupon makes business which were already successful become even more successful.
60-70% of merchants willing to participate again is actually pretty good.
I think participating in Groupon certainly cannot hurt your business. If you deal doesn't reach the minimum number of sign-ups you lose nothing I suppose. But Groupon will need a way to avoid such deals. So it should start declining featuring deals of companies which have proved unsuccessful before. Am I not right?
