If the world is to be saved from extinction, I think Mother Nature will save it. But first we humans need to save her! :)
@pichurka, I think we went too far away. Moving the Earth or migrating to other planets seems fascinating but they are a long way off in time. In order for mankind to survive and reach this level of development we must first stop global warming.
@Steliyan_Petkov_Georgiev, probably, but as long the question of saving the Earth stands, it will be us (not some other mutated species) who will be doing the saving, if we will bother.
@pichurka, I believe we will have the ability to migrate to another life-supporting planet, before we have the power and knowledge to move the whole Earth.
@Steliyan_Petkov_Georgiev, I agree, but this will come much later and, until then, we will then be able to move the Earth much farther (to another light/heat source).
@pichurka, even if we move it a little further, some time after that, we should start looking for another star or another source of energy to move the Earth next to, because the expansion of the sun is the beginning of its extinguishing and death.
Man will save the world. Whatever mutates from us, it will still be called human. As long as the planet is concerned, I am quite convinced that by the time it starts to die from the heat of the sun, we will be able to move it a little farther. :)
@Valentin_Ivanov, I don't believe that humans can save any of these. Take the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen as an example why.
By save the world you mean what? Save the planet? Save biological life?
Who says it is going to be saved at all? Humans don't have the capacity to save it and we are going to kill any other species that is likely to surpass us evolutionary. The world is doomed.
